Robyn Ridgley, Ed.D.

Dr. Ridgley is an assistant professor in the Early Childhood Education Program. She received her B.S. degree in Learning and Behavior Disorders from Murray State University and her M.Ed. degree in Early Childhood Special Education from Vanderbilt University. She completed her Ed.D. in Special Education at the University of Kentucky. She has worked as a special educator in an elementary school, an early interventionist for infants and toddlers with disabilities, an administrator in an inclusive early childhood program, and a project coordinator for several federally funded grants. Dr. Ridgley’s research interests are related to young children with disabilities and their families. Specifically, she is interested in what happens during home visits completed with families, the relationship between families’ concerns and the content of home visits, and how service providers respond to the needs of children and concerns of families within the home and classroom setting. Dr. Ridgley’s teaching interests include assessing young children for program planning, planning instructional settings and programs for children, and working with and supporting families. Dr. Ridgley is a member of the Division for Early Childhood of the Council for Exceptional Children and the National Association for the Education of Young Children. |
